Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA): 32 hour position - Weekends as needed. Must be licensed in NYS. Reports to Rehab Director. Performs direct patient care activities under the clinical supervision of a physical therapist. Seeking an energetic, compassionate team player who wants to help residents maximize full physical potential.
Duties include:
1. Provides clinical services to residents according to treatment plans developed by the physical therapist. Completes screenings. Reviews with therapist regarding plan of action.
2. Assist the Physical Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
3. Observes, records, and reports to the therapist the response to treatment, reactions and conditions related to assigned duties.
4. Maintains productivity requirement of on-site facility time.
5. Maintains daily records of treatments and documents on patients in the EMR
6. Assists the therapist and adheres to facility policy and procedures and participates in quality improvement and safety/infection control programs.in working with residents, families and caregivers to utilize use of functional abilities.
7. Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in facility inservices, continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences.
8. Attends and participates in facility meetings and other meetings as requested.
9. Assists in the care of rehab department and equipment.
10. Maintains confidentiality of all resident, facility and related information.
11. Acts in compliance with all regulatory requirements and professional standards and guidelines.
