Position: Experienced Automotive Service Technician (Volkswagen Experience Preferred)
Location: VW of Hartford, CT
About Us:
We central CT's authorized Volkswagen dealership dedicated to upholding the German engineering excellence that defines the VW brand. Our service center features the latest diagnostic tools (including ODIS), and a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, engine, transmission, suspension, braking, HVAC, and electronic systems on Volkswagen vehicles per factory standards.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and multi-point checks with efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilize ODIS diagnostic software and Volkswagen-specific tools for accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
- Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure optimal performance and drivability.
- Communicate clearly with service advisors about findings, additional recommendations, and estimated completion times.
- Document all work thoroughly on repair orders and maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) standards.
- Tag and save warranty parts as required; adhere to safety, environmental, and dealership policies.
- Participate in ongoing Volkswagen training to stay current with new models, technologies, and TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins).
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of automotive technician experience; Volkswagen, Audi, or other German brand experience strongly preferred.
- Volkswagen certification (or progress toward certification via Volkswagen Academy) is a major plus—we support and sponsor training for the right candidates!
- Strong diagnostic skills, including electrical/electronic systems, scan tools, and active problem-solving.
- Familiarity with modern vehicle technologies (hybrids, EVs, ADAS, infotainment) is a bonus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Own a solid set of professional hand tools (dealership provides specialty tools and lifts).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
