Shift Details: Occupational Therapist to see infants in the Special Care Nursery on an as needed basis - there are no set hours or schedule for this role.
Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services to the patient by assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care and treatment programs. The therapist also participates in varied Rehabilitation Services department activities designed to enhance patient care and programs. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelors or Master's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program is required.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
WI state license as a Occupational Therapist is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days. RN/OT/PT/SLP, preferred.

Occupational Therapist – Special Care Nursery

Froedtert Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide specialized therapy services to infants in our Special Care Nursery on an as-needed basis.
This is a unique opportunity for an OT who is passionate about infant development and family-centered care to work alongside an interdisciplinary team supporting some of our smallest and most vulnerable patients.
A Unique Opportunity for an Occupational Therapist
This is an as-needed position with no set hours or schedule. It may be an excellent opportunity for an OT looking to supplement their current practice, maintain clinical skills, expand their hospital-based experience, or develop specialized experience working with infants.
The OT will provide individualized assessment and treatment based on the clinical needs of infants in the Special Care Nursery while collaborating with nurses, physicians, therapists, and other members of the care team.
What You’ll Do

Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to infants in the Special Care Nursery.

Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs.

Implement therapeutic interventions designed to support development, function, and participation.
-
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

Document assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress accurately and timely.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Support family-centered care through education, communication, and collaboration with parents and caregivers.

Participate in Rehabilitation Services department activities and initiatives designed to enhance patient care and clinical programs.

Maintain current clinical knowledge and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Required:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Current Wisconsin state license as an Occupational Therapist.
-
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider, or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
-
Experience working with infants, pediatric patients, or in an acute-care hospital setting.

Experience with developmental, sensory, feeding, positioning, or other neonatal/pediatric occupational therapy interventions.
-
Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
-
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and family-centered care skills.
