We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Legal Secretary to join our legal team. Duties
- Manage and coordinate attorney calendars, appointments, and court deadlines efficiently.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw.
- Prepare and process legal filings with courts or government agencies in compliance with procedural law requirements.
- Assist with client communication by scheduling meetings, answering inquiries professionally, and handling confidential information securely.
- Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, transcription, and filing of pleadings or evidence.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and vendors to gather information necessary for case progression.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing correspondence, preparing reports, and handling phone etiquette with professionalism.
Skills
- Proven experience supporting attorneys in multiple practice areas with strong knowledge of procedural law.
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as SUMAC and document management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Outstanding proofreading and transcription abilities to ensure accuracy in all legal materials.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word processing), data entry procedures, filing systems, and general clerical tasks.
- Experience supporting complex litigation cases involving civil litigation support or personal injury cases is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of various practice areas including estate planning; environmental; tribal;; landlord-tenant; family; patent; workers’ compensation; personal injury; general & commercial litigation; procedural law; contracts; legal writing; client communication; research; document review; legal drafting; and confidentiality protocols.
