POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform general maintenance duties to ensure the safety, upkeep, and equipment needs of Abe’s Garden Community facilities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that high standards of safety are developed, met, and maintained at the residential services facilities.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repair of furniture and equipment.
- Change light bulbs, replace fixtures, and do similar minor electrical tasks.
- Open clogged drains, fix leaks, and performs other simple plumbing jobs.
- Assist with loading or unloading trucks and moving furniture when needed.
- Maintain tools and maintenance equipment and keep maintenance room in neat condition.
- Maintain the company grounds in accordance with relevant regulations, agency standards, and fiscal consideration.
- Walk the company ground daily to inspect for maintenance problems, damages, and missed trash or other any other aesthetic issue.
- Monitor and complete corrective and preventative maintenance requests.
- Ensure that equipment and furnishings are maintained in safe, operable condition, and/or arrange for replacement.
- Perform special projects, such as custom renovations to resident units and making units ready for move-in.
- Assist residents with problems and requests, as needed.
- Do touch-up and repair painting, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2+ years of prior experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and low voltage work.
- Certified Maintenance Technician preferred.
- Valid TN driver’s license required.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Must be safety oriented in thinking.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to sit / stand for 8 hours.
- Lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Repeated bending, stooping, walking, carrying, and ladder climbing.
- Works in all temperature conditions.
