Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance with product selection, including plants, gardening tools, lawn care supplies, and outdoor decor
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked with high-quality products
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions accurately, handle cash and card payments, and manage customer accounts
- Identify plants and gardening supplies to educate customers about their features and care requirements
- Assist with floral arrangements and floral design projects to enhance visual appeal and customer satisfaction
- Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and organizing products efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions via phone or in person, offering gardening tips, and resolving issues promptly
- Conduct outdoor work activities such as landscape maintenance tasks or lawn care demonstrations when needed
- Keep organized records of sales transactions, stock levels, and customer interactions to support store operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for outdoor work and gardening is essential
- Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, horticulture, plant identification, floral design, and gardening techniques is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, retail math skills, and merchandising practices
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform outdoor tasks comfortably in various weather conditions
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for stocking and inventory management
