PRN Medical Companion / Patient Care Companion
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate PRN Medical Companion to provide non-clinical companionship, supervision, and support in a home setting. We are specifically looking for someone with a medical or healthcare background, such as a CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, nursing student, or similar experience, who is comfortable recognizing changes in a patient’s condition and communicating concerns when necessary.
This position is primarily focused on companionship and general support rather than providing skilled medical care.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing companionship, conversation, and emotional support
- Remaining present with the individual for supervision and general safety
- Assisting with basic daily activities and mobility as needed
- Preparing simple meals and snacks
- Providing reminders for daily routines
- Accompanying the individual on walks, errands, or appointments
- Observing for changes in behavior, appearance, mobility, or overall condition
- Communicating any concerns or changes to the appropriate family member or healthcare provider
- Providing reassurance and support during periods when family members are unavailable
- Performing light household tasks related to the individual's care and comfort
This is primarily a non-clinical companion position; however, a healthcare background is required or strongly preferred so that the caregiver is comfortable around medical conditions and can recognize when additional medical attention may be needed.
Schedule: PRN / As Needed
Preferred Background: CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nursing Student, Patient Care Technician, or other healthcare-related experience.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, attentive, dependable, professional, and comfortable providing one-on-one support in a home environment.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
