Welders need to qualify for CS pipe and structure at a minimum - a WPS will be provided upon applying
Fitters need to be able to work with pipe and structure
- Must be able to work legally and travel outside the US - there will be times you are scheduled to work offshore
- Employee needs to be willing to work 84hrs/week some weeks AND 40hrs/week other weeks depending on workload. If the workshop load is low employees would be sent offshore whenever possible.
- Employee needs to understand work and safety instructions in English
Important information upon interview:
- On structural test, back welding is not allowed, penetration must be cleaned and performed from one side only.
- We do acknowledge that SMAW (stick) is uncommon for the root but this is how our WPS has been written and approved. 90% of candidates fail at this point, please make sure you understand.
- Welders must read WPS prior to welding to know heat, speed, electrical input. Welder will be provided scrap metal to practice and check heat before starting on coupon.
- For piping, despite information on WPS, test will be 6G.
