Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover disabled or damaged vehicles, including flatbed and wheel-lift models
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify mechanical issues accurately
- Perform repairs on a variety of vehicles, focusing on mechanical systems and manual transmissions
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or specialized towing tools
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients during roadside assistance or vehicle recovery
- Manage conflict situations professionally, ensuring safety for all parties involved
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and tow logs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all operations
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Hands-on experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds or wheel-lifts
- Knowledge of manual transmissions and automotive repair techniques
- Valid commercial driver’s license with towing endorsements; experience in commercial driving preferred
- Familiarity with automotive tools such as forklifts and other load/unload equipment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
