The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and shipping outgoing orders accurately and on time. This role supports warehouse and logistics operations by ensuring products are packaged correctly, shipping documentation is complete, and shipments meet company and carrier requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and package orders for shipment according to company standards
- Verify shipping orders, quantities, and product information for accuracy
- Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation
- Coordinate with carriers, brokers & Customer Service regarding pickups as needed
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update systems as required
- Inspect outgoing shipments for damage or quality issues
- Keep shipping area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Communicate shipment issues or delays to supervisors or team members
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
