Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment.
- Perform phlebotomy and medication administration under supervision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Support physicians with procedures such as suturing, wound care, and basic physiology assessments.
- Manage medical documentation including ICD coding, medical records, and detailed notes to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, follow-up care, and insurance documentation to streamline clinic operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in diverse settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or medical-surgical wards.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential.
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, vital signs collection, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional patient service while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Certification in medical assisting or related fields is preferred but not required; ongoing training in emergency medicine or geriatrics is a plus.
