This position is for either Final Inspector, or In-Process Inspector, or CMM Programming Inspector.
The basic function of the position is to perform inspection of CNC machined components for aerospace industry and document results. You need to be knowledgeable of all areas of Dimensional Inspection, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, and AS9100 Quality Management System protocols. You need to be detailed oriented, highly organized, creative, flexible and a great team player.
Education and/or Experience:
- Thorough knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Blueprint Call outs, either from formal training or on the job experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in a AS9100 Quality System (or ISO9001).
- Minimum 2 years' experience with dimensional inspection.
- For CMM Programming position: Minimum 2 years' experience with programming PC-DMIS CMM
Inspection Responsibilities:
- Inspect complex aerospace parts working with Engineering and Quality personnel to verify product conformance, while ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Interpret Drawing GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standard practices.
- Verify mechanical measurement methods using precision measurement equipment, such as surface plates, height stands, micrometers, comparators, etc.
CMM Programmer:
- To understand and to be knowledgeable of all areas of CMM Inspection and capable of programming CMM with PC-DMIS Software.
- First Piece Inspector will utilize CMM for quality control support of daily production and operational needs.
- Create, develop, edit, and implement new CMM programs for complex aerospace parts using PC-DMIS software from 2D drawings.
- Work with Engineering and Quality personnel to develop programs which verify product conformance, while ensuring program efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop programs meeting ASME Y14.5 standard practices and recommend actions for improvement.
- Verify program accuracy through mechanical measurement methods and revise programs when determined to be necessary.
- Complete First Article dimensional inspection of production setups, and support in-process and final inspection for complex dimensional characteristics.
- Verify out of tolerance characteristics with secondary mechanical methods using precision measurement equipment, such as surface plates, height stands, micrometers, comparators, etc.
- Work with Production personnel to assist in investigation and correction of out of tolerance conditions.
- Maintain PC-DMIS Program database and ensure obsolete programs are controlled from unintended use.
Final Inspector / In-Process Inspector:
- A Final Inspector will provide quality control support of daily production and operational needs.
- Complete First Article Inspection dimensional inspection and complete reports compliant with AS9102, and support in-process inspection for complex dimensional characteristics.
- Review Industry and Customer Specifications to ensure product conformance.
- Work with Production personnel to assist in investigation and correction of out of tolerance conditions.
- Maintain Inspection Record database and ensure obsolete programs are controlled from unintended use.
- Verify part accuracy through mechanical measurement methods using precision measurement equipment, such as surface plates, height stands, micrometers, comparators, etc.
- Compile Documents from all production and special processing certifications to provide to customer.
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports of production and upload to Net-Inspect.
- Additionally support in-process and first piece inspection for complex dimensional characteristics.
- Work with Production personnel to assist in investigation and correction of out of tolerance conditions.
- Work with Engineering and Quality personnel to verify product conformance, while ensuring accuracy.
