Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper/Office Manager to join our team. This vital role combines comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities with office management duties, ensuring the smooth financial and administrative functioning of our organization. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and possess a strong background in various accounting software and financial concepts. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall office operations to foster a productive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance in software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial data through meticulous account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable regulatory standards
- Handle payroll processing accurately using appropriate payroll software while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis
- Support budgeting activities by monitoring expenses against budgets and providing relevant financial insights for decision-making
- Assist with governmental accounting procedures and tax-related tasks to ensure adherence to legal requirements
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards
- Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Knowledge of GAAP standards combined with technical accounting skills for accurate financial report writing
- Ability to perform accounts payable/receivable management along with payroll processing efficiently
- Familiarity with tax experience related to payroll taxes, sales taxes, or other applicable filings
- Excellent organizational skills including 10 key typing for data entry accuracy and speed
- Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across departments
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
