The Oak Hall Summer Program is pleased to announce that it has openings for summer camp positions listed below.
- Summer Day Camp Counselors in several specialty areas listed below. Counselor will be responsible for a group of approximately 8 kids (ages 3-12) daily including the planning and management of 4 daily activity classes. FT Hours would be 8:30-4:15 three times weekly, 7:30-4:15 one day weekly, and 8:30-6:00 one day weekly. Salary is $15.50/hour for Junior Counselor and $16.00/hour for the Counselor position. We are looking for people with expertise in arts & crafts, outdoor education, indoor & outdoor sports, and enrichment (2)
- Summer Day Camp Afternoon Counselors in several specialty areas listed below. Counselor will be responsible for a group of approximately 8 kids (ages 3-12) daily including the management of daily activity classes. Hours would be 4:00-6:00 pm daily. Salary is $15.50/hour for Junior Counselor and $16.00/hour for the Counselor position. We are looking for people with expertise in arts & crafts, outdoor education, indoor & outdoor sports, and enrichment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate daily lessons and activities based on program objectives and mission (OHLS Counselors)

Determine and submit supply orders - update supply inventory and needs on a weekly basis or as directed otherwise

Maintain clean, safe, fun, and engaging activity site

If applicable, integrate summer theme into daily lesson plans
-
Maintain an accurate roster of camper attendance in group and class settings
-
Work cooperatively with fellow camp staff
-
Maintain and manage classroom property and supplies (includes all set up, clean up, and end of summer camp closing)
-
Actively assist and participate, as directed, during extended camp care, recess, lunch, special events, etc

Attend all staff meetings

Attend all staff orientations (mandatory for employment)

Wear appropriate camp attire and designated camp tee shirt as required

Ride on school bus and attend all camp trips as required.

All other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-
Previous experience working with elementary-age children
-
Demonstrate leadership qualities and sound judgment
-
Availability to work for all weeks & sessions of camp program
-
Enthusiastic, mature, and flexible in terms of schedule and program delivery.

Desire to work with children in a day camp setting
-
CPR/FA/AED Child/Adult Certification
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Required to sit, talk, hear and visually intercept visitors.

Both close and distance vision is required

Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts

Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 obs.

Work in a traditional climate controlled CLASSROOM environment

Work primarily in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat

Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds.
