Kiddie Academy of Leesburg is an accredited child care/ preschool, serving children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years old.
We are looking for a Lead Teacher to run our After-School program (5 years to 12 years - elementary school children) who is also eligible and comfortable driving a preschool bus to/ from elementary schools.
This is a full time position with hours 9am - 6pm, where the teacher helps out in various classrooms in the morning. During LCPS holidays, snow days, winter break, and summer break, the teacher will be running the classroom for the full day.
Summary
As a School Age teacher at Kiddie Academy, you will play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and educational environment for elementary school-aged children. This position is essential in nurturing children's development while ensuring they have an enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and fun.
- Supervise children during camp activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Foster positive relationships with students to encourage participation and growth.
- Assist in managing group dynamics and classroom behavior effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and experiences.
- Safely operate a preschool bus or van to transport children from elementary schools and field trips.
- Help students with their school-assigned homework.
- Ensure that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Must be able to lift children at times.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience as a preschool teacher or camp counselor is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and parents
- Ability to create engaging educational activities that cater to various age groups
