Director, Employer Solutions Strategy and Growth for BJC HealthCare
The Sales Director – Employer Solutions will lead business-to-business (B2B) sales efforts for the healthcare system’s suite of employer-focused products and services. This role is responsible for driving growth, developing strategic relationships, identifying new service opportunities and expanding market presence across key employer segments. Products include (but are not limited to) Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Occupational Health, Direct-to-Employer (D2E) health plans, Wellbeing Programs, and Advanced Primary Care (PMPM models) and near-site/on-site clinics.

The BJC Managed Care department includes multiple functions such as managed care contracting, financial analysis, systems and operations, value-based care and payment programs, payor and provider relations, and direct to employer solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
The Sales Director – Employer Solutions will lead business-to-business (B2B) sales efforts for the healthcare system’s suite of employer-focused products and services. This role is responsible for driving growth, developing strategic relationships, identifying new service opportunities and expanding market presence across key employer segments. Products include (but are not limited to) Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Occupational Health, Direct-to-Employer (D2E) health plans, Wellbeing Programs, and Advanced Primary Care (PMPM models) and near-site/on-site clinics.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- License as a broker OR proven deep engagement with brokers/consultants
- Clear understanding of how employer healthcare purchasing flows
- Strong familiarity with the specific geographic market
- Existing relationships OR quick credibility in-market
- Evidence of driving revenue, partnerships, or new business lines
- Has worked with employers OR understands how benefits decisions are made
- Provider system experience
- Exposure to employer health solutions (any type—not all)
- Experience with direct-to-employer or alternative models
- Existing relationships with larger regional employers
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand employer partnerships.
- Identify, contact and cultivate new business prospects including employers, brokers and consultants.
- Lead the sales cycle from initial outreach through contracting and onboarding, ensuring a seamless client experience.
- Collaberate with internal teams (population health, operations, marketing, finance) to align proposals, pricing and service models with employer needs.
- Foster and manage relationships with strategic vendor partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5-10 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- 10+ years of experience
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience
- Licensed health insurance broker IL and MO
- NAHU/NABIP
- Certified Self-Funding Specialist (CSFS)
