Role Summary
Haven Healthcare is a nationally recognized behavioral health treatment provider dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care across the country. We are seeking a driven, empathetic Admissions Specialist to join our national admissions team. In this role, you will be the voice of Haven Healthcare — guiding prospective patients and their families through the intake process from the first call to admission. You will assess clinical needs, verify insurance benefits, and match individuals to the appropriate level of care across our network of treatment programs. This is a high-impact position that directly saves lives.
Schedule(s) Available: 1st shift, 9a-5p (weekend availability)
What You'll Do
- Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound admissions calls with urgency, warmth, and professionalism
- Guide prospective patients and families through the admissions process from initial inquiry to confirmed placement
- Conduct brief clinical pre-screenings to identify appropriate levels of care and match individuals to the right Haven program
- Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage clearly to patients and families in plain language
- Educate callers on Haven Healthcare's national program offerings, including residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services
- Collaborate with clinical and facility teams to coordinate smooth, timely patient transfers
- Overcome objections with empathy and maintain a patient-first mindset at every stage of the process
- Accurately document all admissions activity in the CRM and maintain compliance with HIPAA standards
- Follow up with warm leads and inquiries to maximize census and reduce dropout between inquiry and admission
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in behavioral health admissions, sales, or patient intake in a clinical setting
- Demonstrated ability to close admissions calls and move patients through the intake funnel efficiently
- Working knowledge of health insurance — including in-network/out-of-network benefits, deductibles, authorizations, and utilization review
- Deep empathy for individuals struggling with addiction, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders
- Excellent verbal communication skills — clear, confident, and compassionate under pressure
- Ability to speak knowledgeably about multiple treatment modalities and levels of care
- Strong organizational skills and CRM proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a multi-site or national treatment organization
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria and clinical intake best practices
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Background in peer support, counseling, or clinical work

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
