The Core Faculty Adjunct / Family Medicine Physician serves as a clinical educator and practicing physician responsible for teaching, mentoring, and supervising learners while providing high-quality, patient-centered family medicine care. This role supports the academic mission through curriculum delivery, resident/student supervision, scholarly activity, and participation in program development, while maintaining an active clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive family medicine care across the lifespan of an outpatient and/or inpatient setting, as needed.
- Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in Family Medicine.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and educational technologies.
Teaching and Student Supervision:
- Collaborate with the Program Director to contribute to the Core Family Medicine Curriculum and oversee specific areas of the curriculum.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to the residents and medical students.
- Supervise learners in clinical settings, providing direct observation, feedback, and evaluation.
- Contribute to curriculum development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
- Support accreditation requirements and compliance (e.g., ACGME, LCME, or applicable standards).
- All other duties as assigned.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency.
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility) in the practicing state.
- DEA license (or eligibility).
- Demonstrated interest or experience in medical education.
- Prior teaching or faculty experience in an academic or residency setting preferred.
