Duties
- Provide exceptional patient service by greeting patients, verifying identities, and assisting with check-in procedures.
- Perform intake assessments including collecting patient histories, recording vital signs, and updating medical records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with clinical procedures such as administering medications and procedures.
- Support physicians and nurses with tasks like ICD coding for diagnoses, managing medication administration, and preparing patients for procedures.
- Maintain clinic flow by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow during busy hours in outpatient clinics or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to safety protocols related to hospital medicine and urgent care environments.
- Support research activities by assisting with data collection, documentation for Wit research opportunities, and maintaining accurate records for ongoing studies.
Requirements
- Prior experience in clinical settings such as hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and basic pharmacology is essential.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Demonstrated ability to operate EHR systems efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU or surgical units.
- Flexibility to work in fast-paced settings such as emergency medicine or medical-surgical units; inpatient experience is a plus.
