WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
Our team in Watervliet, NY, is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill up to six (6) union manufacturing production operator positions. The Manufacturing Operator will be responsible for operating all production equipment and maintaining production specifications in accordance with the specific processes while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency goals are met.
This position requires flexibility and commitment to work an alternating 3-day / 4-day weekly schedule for 12 hours per manufacturing shift.
The positions will be within the General Making department and will be offered to candidates in graded positions based on experience, technical ability, and expertise.
The pay range for the positions will be between $31.22 - $35.17. Per the USW Local 17 contract, new hires are paid 85% of the full job bid rate for the first six (6) months of employment and then moved the full job bid rate thereafter.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred.
- 1-2 years of previous experience working with industrial equipment and/or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- This position requires flexibility and commitment to work an alternating 3-day / 4-day weekly schedule for 12 hours per manufacturing shift.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving, and working as a team are paramount in this position.
- Candidates must have good communication skills, exhibiting the ability to interact with others, as well as basic computer skills.
- Consistent, proper use of personal protective equipment is required.
- Must have the ability to respect and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Requires the ability to lift/move up to 50-pounds, climb, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead, and work in high temperatures.

BENEFITS IN JOINING US
Membership in the United Steelworkers Local 17 is required for this position. Hired candidates may be assigned to either the day shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), depending on operational needs and available openings after the internal job bidding process has been completed. While candidate shift preferences will be taken into consideration during the recruitment process, they cannot be guaranteed. The manufacturing schedule follows an alternating pattern of Monday-Wednesday one week and Monday-Thursday the next.

Provided is the pay range for this position, which is $31.22 - $35.17 per hour. Shift differentials of $.20 per hour (days) and $.40 per hour (nights) are paid to candidates in these positions.
In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to $5,000 based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.

- Shift Differentials (i.e., Hourly Rate plus Shift Differential of $.40 per hour, depending on schedule)
