Requirements for the Machine Production Operator
Qualified candidates should be able to:
- Read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and work orders
- Write basic correspondence and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Work with measurements involving money, weight, volume, and distance
- Follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out job responsibilities
- Maintain quality and production standards throughout the shift
Machine Production Operator Responsibilities
As a Machine Production Operator, you will support the manufacturing process while meeting safety, quality, and productivity goals. Duties may include:
- Operating production machinery and manufacturing equipment
- Moving raw materials and finished products throughout the production process
- Assembling parts and components
- Trimming and cleaning products to meet quality standards
- Counting, labeling, packaging, and wrapping products
- Inspecting products for quality and accuracy
- Maintaining production targets and quality expectations
- Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Following all company safety procedures and policies
Machine Production Operator Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and may include:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment
- Frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
- Warm temperatures during summer months that may exceed outdoor temperatures
- Moderate noise levels; hearing protection is available for employee use
