Daughtry Construction Group is a fast-growing residential and commercial contractor specializing in insurance claim projects and government contracts . We partner with national Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) to restore homes after storm, water, and fire damage — roofing, mitigation, and interior build-back across Kansas City and Springfield. This is a ground-floor role in a company that's scaling — the right person will grow with us.
The Role
We're hiring a Project Manager to be our subject matter expert in the field. You will own every project on site — from the initial inspection to the final cleaning. While our office team handles estimates, TPA portals, and scheduling support, you own the physical job: the crews, the quality, the timeline, the budget, and the client's experience.
You'll be hands-on, running multiple active projects at a time, and your photo documentation and daily updates are what keep the entire operation running.
What You'll Do
Run projects end to end on site — initial damage inspections, scope walks, crew coordination, quality control, punch lists, and final walkthroughs with the homeowner
Own the project budget — labor, materials, and equipment costs. You'll select and negotiate with subcontractors, decide which crews work where, and be accountable to a clear gross profit standard on every job
Document like a pro — build thorough daily photo logs that paint a complete picture of the jobsite for the office, the insurance carrier, and the TPA. In this business, photos are what get projects approved and paid
Manage subcontractors and crews — schedule trades, confirm show-ups, verify quality, and hold crews to scope
Keep clients happy — you're the face of the company on site. Set expectations, communicate clearly, and resolve concerns before they become complaints.
Send daily field updates to our Project Coordinator in a consistent format so estimates, supplements, and TPA updates can move without delay
Support supplement documentation — capture the photo evidence (soft metals, drip edge, decking, steep/high conditions) before the crew covers it up
What We're Looking For
3+ years of construction experience with strong general knowledge across trades (roofing experience strongly preferred)
Experience managing subcontractors, crews, and project budgets
Comfortable running multiple active jobs at once and prioritizing on the fly
Disciplined about documentation — daily photos and updates are non-negotiable in insurance work
Local to Springfield MO with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
Able to climb roofs, inspect attics and crawl spaces, and handle physical field conditions
Strong Pluses
Insurance restoration experience (working with adjusters, TPAs, or Xactimate scopes)
CompanyCam, Hover, or similar field documentation tools
Water mitigation experience or IICRC certification
Bilingual English/Spanish
Schedule
Monday–Friday primary schedule with occasional emergency response. Work is concentrated in the Springfield and Kansas City metros; occasional travel to other markets.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
Manage project teams, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff, fostering clear communication and teamwork.
Develop detailed project schedules and utilizing construction management software to coordinate all phases of construction activities.
Monitor construction site activities for safety compliance, quality standards, and regulatory adherence.
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth project progression and compliance.
Ensure construction schedules are maintained through precise project scheduling and timely adjustments as needed.
