Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator/General Laborer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling to efficiently move, locate, and load products within our busy retail supply yard. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth operations in our retail setting while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and provide customer service duties.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Conduct materials handling activities, ensuring proper storage and organization of products.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve efficiency.
- Maintain equipment by conducting routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Assist in building pallets and preparing orders for shipment.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Ability to perform order picking tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
- A valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable (will certify).
- Previous experience working under a warehouse supervisor is a plus.
