Commercial Attendant / Public Space Attendant / Houseperson
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER or GENERAL MANAGER
SUMMARY: Maintains hotel premises in clean and orderly manner by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other job-related duties may be assigned.)
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobby, lounge, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, employee break room, storage rooms and other work areas.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets; empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs.
- Reports all maintenance-related problems to the maintenance department through proper communication channels.
- Handles front desk requests for guest amenities in a timely manner (within 15 minutes).
- When tasks are completed or upon guest request, associate may be asked to clean rooms.
- Proper organizational skills displayed when stocking carts.
- Responsible for careful and efficient use of supplies issued for performance of cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Proper uniform, including nametag must be worn at all times.
- Acknowledgment and a pleasant greeting given to each and every guest.
- Thorough knowledge of all in-house products along with local area information to assist guests when needed.
- Team effort displayed in keeping the commercial area clean and neat.
- Employee will empower herself/himself to accept any customer problem brought to their attention as their problem and do everything in their power to get the problem resolved.
- Employee will assume the responsibility of maintaining the storerooms in a clean, neat, and organized state.
- Employee must display a team attitude and assist co-workers when the need arises.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three- syllable words to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using unites of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
