Responsibilities
- Safely operate Bobtail Trucks
- Load and unload freight with precision, adhering to safety protocols and cargo handling standards
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards
- Transport hazardous or dangerous goods following strict hazardous materials regulations and safety procedures
- Manage the transportation of freight, including automobile transportation and logistics cargo handling
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in accordance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) and tanker operations preferred
- Proven experience in delivery driving, truck driving, or route driving with a focus on freight transportation
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and manual handling techniques for cargo management
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for different types of cargo such as refrigerated goods or flatbed loads
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently to optimize routes and delivery times
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and commitment to safety standards
