We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist to join our dynamic cardiology team. Responsibilities
- Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures such as SPECT scansensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment including SPECT scanners devices with technical proficiency.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations by capturing high-quality images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Implement aseptic techniques during IV insertions and radiopharmaceutical injections to prevent contamination.
- Assist with the operation of ancillary imaging systems such as Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
- Educate patients about procedures, ensuring clear communication regarding preparation, process, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain strict compliance with radiation safety procedures and document all procedures meticulously in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Nuclear Medical Technologist from an accredited program; licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience performing office based SPECT scans
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency in operating medical imaging equipment including specialized nuclear medicine systems.
- Ability to implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients and staff.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of procedures and results.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as IV insertion skills are preferred.
