Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and hang garage doors using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques while adhering to building codes and safety standards
- Perform routine maintenance, mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting on garage door systems including springs, cables, rollers, tracks, openers, and electrical components
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and installation instructions to ensure precise setup and alignment of doors and hardware
- Conduct glass installation, fixture installation, trim carpentry, locksmithing tasks, and metal stud framing as needed for complete door systems
- Use construction experience to handle heavy lifting safely while managing multiple projects on construction sites or remodeling projects
- Ensure compliance with local building codes by following proper procedures for door hanging, electrical work, caulking, and fabrication
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs or installations clearly and addressing customer questions professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience with door installation including garage doors or similar systems; construction site experience preferred
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
- Skilled in electrical work related to garage door openers or other electrical components; familiarity with electrical schematics is a plus
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, fabrication techniques, carpentry (including trim carpentry and frame carpentry), locksmithing or fixture installation is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Construction experience including remodeling projects or metal stud framing enhances your candidacy
