Duties
- Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, administering medications, and monitoring health status
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff.
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and trimming to maintain cleanliness and comfort.
- Provide smooth and seamless communication alongside other technicians.
- Engage in pet sitting services, ensuring pets are comfortable and cared for during their stay
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas while adhering to hygiene standards
- Interact positively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ health and behavior
- Assist with animal handling during intake, examinations, or procedures to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in veterinary assisting or animal care roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling skills
- Experience with pet grooming or pet sitting is a plus
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Excellent customer service abilities to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for kennel cleaning or equipment setup
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience such as being able to tell whenever a dog looks unwell is advantageous
- Willingness to learn new skills related to animal care and behavior management.
- Being bilingual and able to speak and understand Spanish is highly desirable.
