Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems and be adept at troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards, particularly the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Journeyperson Electrician will work on various projects, ensuring that all electrical work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in compliance with NEC standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts.
- Utilize power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Work with high voltage systems while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors on job sites to coordinate work efforts.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less experienced electricians as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Proficiency in working with logic controllers and understanding their applications in electrical systems.
- Familiarity with high voltage installations and maintenance practices is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- A valid Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or equivalent certification is required.
