Small Size Big Mind is a year-round infant care and preschool serving children from few weeks to 6 years old. Located on the bay in Alameda, California, our neighborhood community school offers a nurturing environment fostering growth and discovery for young learners. We have four schools are are looking to fill in positions at various of these locations- they are all throughout Alameda and within 10 minute drive of each other.
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Infant-Toddler Teacher to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports early childhood development. You will implement curriculum plans, foster positive behavior, and build meaningful relationships with our young children to promote their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and support early intervention strategies.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and learning through play.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
- Support children's literacy education, math skills, physical development, and social-emotional growth through engaging activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure each child's individual needs are met, including those requiring special education support.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and conduct assessments aligned with standardized testing when applicable.
- Ensure health, safety, and welfare of all children in your care by following childcare best practices and regulations.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified with 12 or more ECE units- plus infant and toddler classes completed
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, colleagues, and specialists in early intervention or special education.
- Familiarity with classroom experience related to daycare standards, preschool programs, or private school environments is preferred.

Job Description
Small Size Big Mind Preschool is expanding school with three wonderful campuses in the beautiful relaxing seaside setting of Alameda. We offer passionate teachers the perfect place to grow, learn, and earn a great salary. You will be working in a beautiful school designed to provide a unique and one of a kind early learning experience of exploration and joy for young learners.
We value the joy and excitement teachers bring to the early learning experience of children and we provide teachers the time to teach without the distractions of administrative work, long meetings, or redundant training so you can focus on the fulfilling job of teaching young children. We are currently looking for loyal, committed, warm, collaborative, and excited, fully qualified lead preschool teachers to join our team.
Teachers with proven successful work experience, and documented qualifications including all 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) core classes completed are a must. A bachelors and or associate in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Experience with teaching STEM and STEAM in a hands on creative, and fun way is a big plus.

This is a full time position for the right experienced, fully qualified, and passionate teacher.
Our lead teacher will have the skills and experience to lead the curriculum, co- teachers and students in a positive, caring, and educational way. You will have the support of an onsite director and school owner, and work in collaboration as a team member with other dedicated and loyal staff. It is an exciting opportunity to help enhance our model for future centers which will be opened in the area and contribute to a lasting legacy to the community that makes our school so special.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
