Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead our behavioral health and mental health services. Duties
This is an on-site position. Candidates must reside within reasonable driving distance of Mission Viejo, California.
- Provide strategic leadership for clinical programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards
- Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including therapists, counselors, and case managers, fostering professional growth and accountability
- Oversee patient assessment processes, including intake evaluations and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems
- Ensure the delivery of evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and group therapy sessions
- Manage clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical records and medical documentation practices
- Coordinate crisis intervention efforts and crisis management protocols to support patients experiencing mental health emergencies or trauma
- Lead clinical research initiatives to improve treatment outcomes and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices
- Collaborate with community agencies and families to develop individualized care plans that incorporate home & community care strategies
- Monitor quality assurance metrics, patient care standards, and adherence to legal requirements related to medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and data collection
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related mental health field; licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
- Extensive experience in behavioral health settings
- Proven leadership skills in managing clinical teams within hospital or outpatient environments
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD coding systems, CPT coding, and electronic medical records systems
- Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments including intake evaluations and diagnostic assessments using ICD-10/ICD-9 codes
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and experience maintaining secure medical documentation

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
