Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process customer transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service through friendly communication and active listening
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new merchandise to enhance sales opportunities
- Assist with product demos, merchandising displays, stocking shelves, and maintaining organized checkout areas
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone
- Support inventory management by participating in stock counts and ensuring shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions and change calculations
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and upselling techniques will enhance performance
