Job Summary:
The Non-CDL Box Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight state to state while complying with all applicable company policies and transportation regulations. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate a 26-foot non-CDL box truck in accordance with all traffic laws and company safety standards.
- Operate a manual pallet jack to load, unload, and properly position freight when required.
- Perform required driver-level vehicle inspections and maintenance, including:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Check engine oil level.
- Check coolant level.
- Check windshield washer fluid.
- Inspect tire condition and air pressure.
- Inspect lights, reflectors, and turn signals.
- Verify operation of brakes and parking brake.
- Inspect mirrors and windshield.
- Check for air, oil, coolant, or fuel leaks.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured.
- Report mechanical defects immediately.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
- Fuel the vehicle as required.
- Follow company-approved truck navigation procedures and utilize designated GPS and routing systems to safely navigate routes that are appropriate for commercial vehicles.
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with dispatch regarding trip status, delays, route issues, breakdowns, and customer updates.
- Accurately complete and maintain transportation documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proof of Delivery (POD), inspection reports, fuel receipts, toll receipts, and any additional company-required paperwork.
- Understand and comply with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including roadside inspections, vehicle inspections, cargo securement requirements, and hours-of-service policies as applicable to the operation.
- Be willing and able to remain overnight away from home and sleep in the assigned company box truck when required by route schedules.
- Safely secure freight using load bars, straps, and other cargo securement equipment.
- Represent Yaady Trucking LLC professionally when interacting with customers, warehouse personnel, law enforcement, and the general public.
- Immediately report accidents, traffic citations, vehicle damage, cargo claims, injuries, or safety concerns to management.
- Maintain a clean driving record and operate company equipment in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner at all times.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and dispatch instructions.
- Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned by management.
Pay: $160.00 - $200.00 per day
