Overview
As our Grant Writing Intern, you will play a hands-on role in securing funding that directly supports our mission. This is a fantastic opportunity for students studying nonprofit management, communications, English, social work, or public administration to gain real-world experience in the grant writing process.
Responsibilities
- Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporations
- Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals
- Help maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements
- Support the development of organizational materials such as case statements and impact reports
- Collaborate with leadership to understand programs and communicate them effectively in writing
Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in fields such as nonprofit management, public administration, communications, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in grant writing, proposal development, or technical writing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems is a plus.
- Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize information effectively.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial report writing is advantageous.
