treatment center in Costa Mesa, California, offering evidence-based care through Intensive
Outpatient (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) Treatment services. Our mission is to

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Licensed Clinical Director to lead and oversee
all clinical operations of our growing treatment facility. This role is responsible for ensuring
high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and the implementation of best-in-class clinical programming.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in SUD and MH treatment, California
regulatory compliance, and team leadership, and is passionate about building a
high-integrity program from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Oversee all clinical services, including IOP and PHP programming
- Ensure delivery of evidence-based treatment modalities and individualized care plans
- Maintain clinical excellence and adherence to ethical standards
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (DHCS, Joint Commission, and payer requirements)
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical documentation standards
- Prepare for and manage audits, inspections, and accreditation processes
Staff Supervision & Development
- Hire, train, and supervise clinical staff (therapists, counselors, case managers)Provide ongoing clinical supervision and performance evaluations
- Foster a positive, accountable, and mission-driven culture
Program Development
- Assist in developing and refining clinical programming and curriculum
- Implement outcome tracking and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with executive leadership on growth and strategic planning
Utilization Review & Documentation Oversight
- Oversee utilization review processes and payer communications
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and provides documentation training to those who may need additional structure and education in ASAM criteria/dimensions
- Personally maintains a small caseload or handles some of the more complex cases; performs a variety of direct clinical, diagnostic, treatment, and outreach services.
- Perform qualitative chart audits as required to ensure compliance to standards of care
Qualifications
- Active California license required (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, or PhD)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in substance use disorder treatment
- Minimum 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of ASAM criteria, DHCS and JCAHO regulations, and payer requirements
- Experience with MAT programs strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage clinical operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience opening or scaling a treatment facility
- Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation
- Experience working with commercial insurance and utilization review
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $136,000
- Paid time off
