Job Summary
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for elementary school students and staff. This role combines comprehensive indoor deep cleaning, building maintenance, and seasonal outdoor property upkeep.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Daily & Routine Duties
Parish Responsibilities:
- Unlock Church in the morning
- Maintain parish facilities and grounds (Church, Rectory, Office, Mary's House)
- Refer any contracted needs to parish office manager
- All other projects/needs as assigned by Pastor or parish office manager
Indoor Maintenance

Sanitization: Clean and sanitize all toilets, sinks, and plumbing fixtures daily.

Refuse Management: Empty trash cans and replace liners in all assigned areas.

Floor Care: Vacuum carpets, sweep floors, and spot-clean immediate stains or spills.

Common Areas: Sanitize drinking fountains, bottle fillers, and wipe glass display cases.

Surface Cleaning: Wipe down student desks, chairs, and main tables regularly.

Touch-Ups: Address immediate paint scuffs in hallways, restrooms, and doors.
Hazardous Materials & Biohazards

Safe Cleanup: Promptly isolate, clean, and disinfect areas affected by bodily fluids.

Chemical Safety: Mix, use, and store cleaning chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets.

Disposal: Dispose of biohazard bags and regulated waste following district safety guidelines.

PPE Usage: Wear appropriate protective gear including gloves, eye protection, or masks.
Seasonal Outdoor Duties

Snow Removal: Clear snow from sidewalks, entryways, and emergency exits.

Ice Control: Apply salt or sand to prevent slips and falls.

Lawn Care: Mow lawns, trim edges, and pull weeds regularly.

Debris Clearing: Rake leaves and sweep outdoor walkways clear of trash.
Summer & Extended Break Deep Cleaning Duties
Classrooms & Learning Spaces

Furniture Detail: Deep sanitize and dust all student desks, chairs, and tables.

Detail Dusting: Move teacher desks, file cabinets, and bookcases to dust behind them.

Fixtures & Technology: Clean wall clocks, speakers, pencil sharpeners, and projector mounts.

Wall Maintenance: Remove staples, tape, and residue from walls and bulletin boards.
-
Vents & Lights: Wash ceiling light covers, exhaust fans, and HVAC vents.
Advanced Floor, Door, & Window Care

Hard Floors: Strip, wax, and buff tile floors in hallways and rooms.

Carpets: Perform comprehensive seasonal carpet shampooing and extraction.

Perimeters: Deep clean floor corners, edges, and baseboards using vacuum attachments.

Glass & Frames: Wash interior/exterior windows, track channels, and high door frames.
Restrooms & Kitchens Deep Clean

Restroom Repairs: Scrub walls/partitions and re-caulk sinks or fixtures as needed.

Kitchen Appliances: Deep clean refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, sinks, and coffee stations.

Kitchen Systems: Degrease kitchen walls, wash trash cans, and service grease traps.
Specialized School Areas

Gymnasium: Inspect and clean bleachers, wash walls, and repair sports equipment.

Library & Offices: Individually dust window blind slats, bookshelves, and copy machines.

Teachers' Lounge: Purge expired food, wash interior fridge surfaces, and wipe cabinets.
Major Painting & Maintenance

Classrooms: Repaint full classroom walls during summer or extended breaks.

Trim & Doors: Repaint trim, doors, and high-traffic common area walls.
Physical Requirements

Lifting: Ability to move heavy furniture and equipment safely.

Stamina: Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

High Reach: Comfort using ladders to clean high fixtures and ceiling corners
