Full Time Transportation Driver
Churchill Retirement Community – Eugene, OR
Churchill Retirement Community is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Driver to join our team. This position plays an important role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing safe, reliable transportation to medical appointments, shopping trips, community outings, and other scheduled destinations.
Our transportation fleet includes passenger vans as well as a multi-passenger community bus. While experience driving larger vehicles is preferred, a Commercial Driver License (CDL) is not required. We provide training on our vehicles and transportation procedures.

Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, shopping trips, community outings, and other scheduled destinations.
- Operate community passenger vans and a multi-passenger bus safely and confidently while following all traffic laws and defensive driving practices.
- Assist residents entering and exiting vehicles while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Safely secure wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices using proper restraint systems.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness, fuel levels, and general readiness of community vehicles.
- Keep accurate transportation schedules, mileage logs, and trip documentation.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and staff regarding transportation schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service while treating every resident with dignity, patience, and respect.
- Assist with other community support duties as assigned when transportation needs are light.
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Driver License with a clean driving record required.
- Experience driving larger passenger vehicles, shuttle buses, or commercial vans is preferred but not required.
- CDL is not required.
- Previous professional driving experience in senior living, healthcare, shuttle, transit, hospitality, or passenger transportation is preferred.
- Comfortable operating a multi-passenger bus after training.
- Ability to safely assist seniors with varying levels of mobility.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to lift, push, and maneuver wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
