Part Time Rotating Weekends
This position is responsible for keeping the facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly, safe and attractive condition for the residents, employees, and public. The housekeeper promotes sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of infection and odors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Complies with facility policies and procedures.
2. Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings giving constant attention to detail to complete thorough cleaning without disturbing Residents.
3. Sweep, dust, vacuum, wash, scour, mop and sanitize as assigned; must move furniture and equipment as necessary to clean using proper body mechanics.
4. Responsible for daily disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials using policy procedures per facility policy. Uses Universal Precautions and Infection Control Procedures of the Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach.
5. Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc. Must possess knowledge of MSDS for chemicals and comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc. Keep harmful chemicals safely stored and away from Residents. All chemicals will be labeled properly.
6. Wet mop floors in all public bathrooms, corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and common areas daily. Damp mop spills as needed. Uses proper caution signs and safety procedures around Residents when cleaning.
7. Operates and cares for various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, shampooers, buffers, etc. Keeps housekeeper cart stocked, secured, and stored appropriately.
8. Report any needed repairs immediately to Administrator / receptionist (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, light bulbs out, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.).
9. Check entire area for spills, water, etc. periodically. Recognizes and acts on safety hazards- wipes up spills on wet spots off floor, keeps hallways uncluttered when using cleaning equipment. Cleans carpet spots and stains daily.
10. Ability to perform laundry tasks, washing; drying; folding for Residents, food service and housekeeping departments and operate laundry equipment safely and properly.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
