Overview
Join our team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and deliver freight across diverse routes with energy and precision! In this role, you will operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, box trailers and roll-offs. Your expertise in driving and load handling will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailers across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods when necessary
- Transport a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or heavy equipment like dump trucks and roll-off containers
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies
- Manage route driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency and route planning
- Assist in securing freight properly for transport to prevent damage during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered during trips
- Weekly maintenance of your truck to include greasing and washing of truck
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty trucks
- Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles
- Experience handling various types of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or manual techniques; prior forklift certification is a plus
- Knowledge of route driving best practices with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Strong understanding of trucking regulations related to commercial driving and transportation safety
- Physical ability to perform loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road; flexibility to work weekends or extended shifts as needed
