About Us
The School of American Mah Jongg is an instructor accreditation program dedicated to training and accrediting American Mah Jongg instructors. Our mission is to preserve the integrity of the game while providing an exceptional educational experience for instructors across the country.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Program Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our growing accreditation program. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, takes pride in producing accurate work, and is comfortable following detailed procedures.
What You'll Do
As our Program Assistant, you will provide administrative and student support for the accreditation program. Responsibilities include:
- Responding to student emails professionally and promptly
- Assisting with tracking student progress through the accreditation program
- Maintaining student databases, spreadsheets, and digital records
- Reviewing submitted documents and materials for completeness and accuracy
- Assisting with practicum submissions and related administrative tasks
- Preparing evaluations, certificates, and student correspondence
- Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
- Following established procedures, checklists, and detailed task instructions
- Providing friendly and professional support to students
- Assisting with our private Facebook community
- Organizing digital files and maintaining accurate records
- Identifying missing or incomplete information and following up with students
- Assisting with other administrative duties and special projects as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of how to play American Mah Jongg is strongly preferred. Familiarity with NMJL rules is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Excel
- Comfortable learning new software and technology
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and instructions consistently
- Experience with Canva, Facebook Groups, Podia, or automation software is helpful but not required
Professional Development Opportunity
An employee who already knows how to play American Mah Jongg may be eligible to complete the School of American Mah Jongg Instructor Accreditation Program at no cost as an educational benefit after successfully completing the introductory employment period.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
