Position Purpose
The Night Shift Nurse (RN/LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a calm overnight environment. This position provides hands-on nursing care, supports resident safety and comfort, and collaborates with the care team to ensure continuity of care throughout the night.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide total nursing care to residents on the assigned unit during the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations
- Communicate care plans, procedures, and treatments clearly to residents and families
- Accurately transcribe and implement physician orders
- Document care and resident responses thoroughly and timely
- Give and receive detailed shift reports to ensure continuity of care
- Conduct routine rounds to monitor resident comfort, safety, and condition
- Supervise and support CNAs, ensuring accurate daily documentation
- Coordinate care with therapists to support 24-hour rehabilitation needs
- Record diet changes and communicate updates to the Dietary Department
- Participate in quality improvement activities, in-services, and staff meetings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN nursing program
- Active RN/LPN state license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to professionalism and compassionate care
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Shift Differentials
- Weekday Nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM): +$1.50/hr
- Weekend Days (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM): +$2.50/hr
- Weekend Nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM): +$4.00/hr
