What would a typical day look like?
As a Lead Technician at Harrison Home Systems, you’ll be the frontline leader on our most prestigious job sites. You will spend your time running luxury residential projects, mentoring junior techs, managing build quality, and diagnosing complex system issues. We’re looking for someone who takes true ownership of the job site, the installation standards, and the client experience. Because of this, you must be a highly autonomous leader who thrives with minimal supervision.
Here’s how a typical week might look:
- On Monday, you might find yourself reviewing project blueprints, leading a morning huddle with your install team, and beginning a major rack build.
- On Tuesday, you may be working side-by-side with your team deploying high-end Lutron shades or troubleshooting a complex Savant network architecture.
- On Wednesdays, we all fly to Vegas together and hit the casinos. (Just kidding; we just wanted to make sure you’re still paying attention.)
- You may end your week on Friday by conducting final client walkthroughs, handing over a beautifully completed system, and ensuring our strict quality-control checklists are fully wrapped up.
At a more granular level, your days will consist of the following:
- Leading the onsite installation and integration of premium audio/visual, networking, climate, lighting, and automation equipment in luxury residential environments.
- Serving as the primary onsite technical lead, mapping out control interfaces between major subsystems.
- Advanced troubleshooting of complex audio, video, networking, and control system disruptions.
- Savant and Lutron configuration and testing (full programming skills are a major plus, but not mandatory).
- Managing onsite project timelines, material staging, and coordinating closely with the Project Manager/Operations Manager.
- Mentoring, coaching, and quality-checking the work of apprentice and junior technicians on your team to ensure elite clean rack/cable management standards.
- Providing regular, clear progress and field reports to the leadership team.
If we’re lucky, our project pipeline will be flawlessly planned and structured. However, luxury integration priorities can shift at a moment’s notice. You must be comfortable with shifting focus, staying cool under pressure, and actively leading your team through changing project demands.
You will always be expected to treat our clients and your colleagues with patience and friendliness, no matter how big or small their issue. Client service is something we hold sacred at our company, so it is of the utmost importance that you lead by example and serve as a reassuring, expert hand for our clients.
What should you bring to the table?
- A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in luxury residential low-voltage integration, A/V, and custom smart-home technology.
- Deep hands-on experience and familiarity with Savant and Lutron Lighting & Shades (Highly Preferred).
- Comprehensive knowledge of high-end residential systems integration, including audio/video, climate control, security, CCTV, and robust networking architectures (Araknis, Ruckus, etc.).
- Programming/Configuration Skills: Ability to configure or program Savant, Lutron, or Control4 is a major asset, but we are willing to train the right technical leader.
- Proven leadership capability—experience running job sites, organizing workflows for a small crew, and coordinating with general contractors on high-end trades.
- Extensive experience in a premium client-facing role; we work in elite, multi-million dollar homes, so exceptional interpersonal skills and a polished presentation are non-negotiable.
- Strong project coordination, blueprint reading, and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record (We provide company vehicles!).
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
- A positive attitude, a high level of personal accountability, and a willingness to mentor others.
- Your own comprehensive set of professional hand and power tools.
