South River Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, located in Edgewater, MD, is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Director of Human Resources to join our team.

The Director of Human Resources will perform HR related functions and duties in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Facility. This role reports directly to the Administrator.
Duties
- Promote a culture of respect, teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Manage recruiting, interviewing, hiring, perform pre-employment background and reference checks, orientation, onboarding, annual appraisals and performance improvement plans
- Develop and maintain trust with coworkers by resolving concerns promptly maintaining confidentiality
- Participate in leadership meetings and collaborate with directors of all departments
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Process FMLA, Paid Family Leave and Worker's Compensation
- Manage employee recognition programs and lead interdepartmental events
- Update information in HRIS and ensure that required licenses are up to date and on file
- Uphold a high ethical standard of integrity, confidentiality and non-discrimination
- Conduct fair investigations into allegations of policy violation
- Update HRIS system and files and ensure compliance with MD Health regulations
- Analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion and act in the best interest of the facility
- Supervise the Human Resources Department
- Interpret facility policy to team members
Job Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources Management
- Bachelor's Degree in related field of study (Human Resources, Business Administration, etc.)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and great attention to detail
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Demonstrated knowledge of various HR functions such as recruiting, employee relations and performance management
- Maintain confidentiality
