Camp Counselor – Summer Camp (Ages 3–13)
Elite University Summer Camps is seeking energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic Camp Counselors to help create a safe, engaging, and memorable summer experience for children ages 3–13.
Camp Counselors serve as mentors, activity leaders, and role models while supervising campers throughout the day. In addition to general camp responsibilities, counselors will be expected to select a specialty area and assist in delivering instruction alongside a Lead Instructor.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and actively engage with campers ages 3–13 throughout the camp day.
- Lead and participate in games, recreational activities, and group projects.
- Assist with camper check-in, check-out, transitions, lunch, and snack periods.
- Support field trips, swimming days, special events, and themed camp activities.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all campers.
- Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and participation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming camp environment.
- Communicate professionally with camp leadership, staff, and families.
- Serve as a positive role model for campers at all times.
Specialty Instruction Requirement:
All Camp Counselors will be expected to select one specialty area and assist a Lead Instructor in planning and delivering lessons and activities.
Specialty Areas Include:
- Art
- STEM
- Physical Education (Phys-Ed)
Counselors should be prepared to actively participate in their selected specialty and help create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for campers.
Qualifications:
- Must enjoy working with children ages 3–13.
- Previous experience working with children in camps, schools, childcare centers, churches, or youth programs preferred.
- Interest or experience in Art, STEM, or Physical Education.
- Positive, energetic, patient, and dependable.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to supervise groups of children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ability to remain active throughout the camp day.
- Must pass a background check.
