IDR is seeking qualified security technicians, including a lead technician who can lead both small and large projects. Work would be in both NY and NJ. Responsibilities and Duties
Technician will be responsible for the project they are working on. This includes
1. Reviewing Site Plans and work orders and understanding the scope of work
2. Marking plans in AutoDesk Construction Cloud
3. Managing a team of tecnicians and ensuring the progress meets daily productivity quotas
4. Daily check-ins at the end of each shift with the project manager to provide project updates
5. Ensuring all test results and photos are properly documented daily.
6. Completing check lists and notes daily
7. Communicating project issues / changes with the project manager as soon as they arise.
8. You will be expected to work on the field work and assisting your team with their productivity.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage
- Owns a personal vehicle- Willingness to travel
- Must be Organized
- Must be punctual
- Must be able to lead and train a team
- Willingness to pick up and transport small materials to the jobsite
- Must work well with others including project managers, general contractors and customers.
- Owns their own hand tools including wire toner
- Experience with cat5, cat5e, cat6 and cat6a cable runs, patch panels and terminations
- Experience installing access control cabling, locks, readers, controllers, power supplies
- Knowledge of low voltage circuits, triggers and relays
- Experience with bending conduit up to 1” EMT, aluminum and galv using a hand bender
- Experience installing, maintaining and servicing surveillance cameras and recorders
- Experience installing elevator cameras and terminating BNC compression connectors and using baluns
- Experience installing programming and testing security alarms, panels, expander boards, contacts, motion sensors, photo beams, glass break detectors etc.
- Experience with rack and stack
- Experience with data center
- Experience with mounting equipment such as AP's, IP Cameras, TV's
- Experience with installing IDF Racks on wall and free standing
- Experience with certifying data and fiber cabling- Availability to work on nights and weekends when necessary
- Experience using a multimeter to test cabling for power, ohms, amps and continuity
- Additional experience with sound masking, lighting controls, speaker installation, fiber installation and termination are a plus
