This job posting is for a Production Operator in our Fuels Department. This position has the hours of 3pm-11:30pm. Training will take place on days. Pay is BOE.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manufacture fuel and solvent blends.
- Comply with batch ticket posting and data entry processes in a timely fashion in order to ensure on-time delivery of products that are in specification, and in order to provide reliable data for inventory reporting purposes.
- Plan for product blending by staging raw materials, handling materials safely and appropriately, and re-storing raw materials after blending as required.
- Complete end of shift production reports at end of each shift.
- Focus on continuous improvement, and communicate improvement ideas on a frequent basis to fuels supervisor.
- Manage inventory in a disciplined and controlled fashion; including using first in first out methodology for raw materials, container consolidation, etc.
- Work smoothly with personnel from other departments, including laboratory, health and safety, other production departments, management, and all other employees of Gage.
- Conduct full range of services on packaging components, including receiving, cleaning, pressure testing, sealing, and labeling.
- Utilize free time for 5S and lean manufacturing improvements.
- Remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious findings to area supervisors
- Operate plant vehicles, including hi-lo’s, drum pickers/squeezers, and yard switchers
- Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude; respond quickly to all information requests
QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, knowledge, experience):
- Ability to interact with a computer on a frequent basis (will be taught ProcessPro if hired)
- Basic math skills (high school level)… unit conversion skills a big plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills
- Self-motivated, must be able to function without direct supervision
- Chemical and hazardous material handling skills helpful
- Required to operate yard switcher and fork truck, CDL license helpful
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Safely climb and descend ladders
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Able to work in the outdoors for extended periods of time
- Able to wear an air purifying respirator and other safety equipment
- Able to drive powered industrial vehicles such as fork lifts

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
