Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies and ensuring all food prep areas are sanitized and ready for service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools
- Follow strict food handling procedures to uphold food safety standards and prevent contamination
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment through regular cleaning routines, including floors, counters, and storage areas
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal prep and ensure timely delivery of orders
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or food service setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and menu planning is a plus
- Basic cooking skills including knife handling, slicing techniques, and meal preparation are desirable
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Experience working in restaurants or catering environments is advantageous
- Demonstrated attention to detail in food handling, recipe adherence, and cleanliness standards
