Duties
- Greet patients warmly and verify their identity while collecting comprehensive medical histories and current symptoms
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support accurate diagnoses
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring comfort
- Assist healthcare providers during clinical procedures, including medication administration, testing, and basic life support interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding and medical terminology entries
- Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient intake forms, and updating medical records
- Assist with specimen collection, wound care dressing changes, and other clinical tasks in outpatient or inpatient settings
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; prior experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is highly preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessment and documentation
- Experience working in diverse environments such as emergency medicine, Level I or Level II trauma centers, or hospital units like PICU or Geriatrics is advantageous
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and patient data management
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like X-ray or medication administration are a plus
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as urgent care centers or hospital wards with inpatient responsibilities
