This isn’t your average construction company. After the owner retired from the NFL he took his high standards and unrelenting passion to be the best to the marine industry. We are looking for a few people to join our 2-3 crews who specialize in being a badass! If you are a great problem solver, have attention to detail, and a good attitude with your hard work...you’ll fit in and excel here. This is a job and a group of guys that you’ll call your brothers and truly enjoy coming to work and getting s*** done.
Technical Skills (Required)
- Proficient in MIG and Stick welding on structural steel (flat, horizontal, vertical), including basic parameter setup and adjustment.
- Ability to produce sound fillet and groove welds that pass visual inspection to AWS D1.1 standards for structural work.
- Strong fit‑up skills – squaring, leveling, clamping, and tacking frames, posts, and brackets to tight tolerances from drawings or layout marks.
- Cutting and prep: safe and accurate use of oxy‑fuel and/or plasma cutters, grinders, and beveling tools for clean joint prep.
- Blueprint and shop drawing reading – interpret dimensions, weld symbols, material callouts, and layout details for dock frames and structural assemblies.
- Proficiency with standard shop and field tools (saws, impacts, magnetic drills, tape, square, levels) used in structural fabrication.
- Basic rigging awareness – safely handling, moving, and positioning fabricated components with chain falls, come‑alongs, and lifting points.
- Comfortable working in both shop and on‑dock/over‑water conditions (steel decks, tight access, variable weather).
- Physical fitness – able to lift 50+ lbs, grind overhead, and weld in awkward positions for extended periods.
Soft Skills We Value
- Attention to detail – clean fit‑up, straight cuts, proper weld size, and consistent bead appearance without constant supervision.
- Clear communication – verify dimensions, ask clarifying questions on drawings, and coordinate sequence with the lead fabricator.
- Problem‑solving mindset – spotting layout conflicts, distortion issues, and interference early, then proposing practical fixes.
- Teamwork – work smoothly with other welders, helpers, and installers to keep fabrication and erection moving on schedule.
- Initiative – keeping your weld station organized, consumables stocked, and next steps queued without being asked.
- Willingness to learn – open to feedback on weld quality, layout techniques, and marine‑specific fabrication methods.
Role & Responsibilities (Welder/Fabricator Focus)

- Lay out, fit, and tack structural assemblies to specified dimensions, ensuring squareness, level, and correct elevations.
- Perform production welding on dock frames and related components, controlling distortion and verifying weld quality.
- Assist with field welding during dock erection: tying in connections, splicing members, and making adjustments from field measurements.
- Use grinders and finishing tools to clean welds, prep surfaces for coating, and remove defects prior to inspection.
- Maintain welding equipment (leads, guns, consumables), report issues, and perform basic troubleshooting on machines.
- Follow all hot‑work and shop safety protocols, including PPE, fire watch, housekeeping, and over‑water safety when fabricating on docks.
- Document basic job information when required (heat numbers, weld repairs, photos of final assemblies).
