Certified or Registered Medical Assistant – ENT

Community Specialty Services is seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our growing Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialty practice in the Leominster area. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented professional who is committed to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers. This role ensures efficient patient flow, assists with examinations and in-office procedures, delivers outstanding patient care, and maintains accurate and timely documentation while adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and practice standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, update medical histories, reconcile medications, and document chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for ENT examinations and assist providers during in-office procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and maintain exam and procedure rooms.
- Administer medications and injections, collect specimens, and perform point-of-care testing as permitted.
- Provide patient education, review treatment plans, and reinforce pre- and post-procedure instructions.
- Respond to patient phone calls and portal messages, triage concerns appropriately, and communicate with providers.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Process prescription refill requests and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Accurately document all patient interactions, including detailed notes and timestamps for patient messages, telephone encounters, orders, and completed tasks.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and office policies.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous medical assistant experience required; ENT or specialty practice experience preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
